Dear Mom, Dad & Marie,

Thanks loads for the birthday greetings. Franks card arrived on the 22nd and I was very glad to hear from him in a letter also on the day.

It was sure good news to know that Marie was back on her music again. Charles Cooke of all people, too. Nice going. Tell her to practice hard and when I return home she will be able to give us a nice concert.

I am going to a concert tonight at 7pm in our mess-hall. It will be played by some of the best orchestras in the states, but we have them on record here in New Guinea. It’s the C.O.’s idea as he likes classical music very much.

I told you in one of my other letters that I had received a nice letter from Ma & Pa Koenig. So glad to hear that you too had a word from them.

Frances Carroll must be leading quite a life back there from all you say.

Thanks for Jims address. I will try to drop him a line at the first chance. I must write to Aunt René as she just arrived here in letter form. Also to Sadie & Aunt Best.

As far as I know, all the packages have arrived and were very welcome. Kept me busy writing “thank-you” notes for a while.

There is nothing else now so I must sign off. Hope that this will find you all well and that it will bring me another few letters from you soon.

                                                                                                All my love to all,

                                                                                                            Aubrey
