Camp Crowder

Oct. 22, 1942

Dear Mother,

I left Camp Grant last night and am now at the same place Hans Norling was.  It’s a replacement center for the signal corp.  I don’t know why they post me in here, but I’m in now and there’s nothing I can do about it now.  But I guess it’s alright.

This is a very big place.  We had a special train coming down here.  They sure took a bunch of them.  The only stop was at Kansas City, Mo. For breakfast, we left there at 8:30 last night and got here about 3:30 this afternoon.  So this is my new address for quite a while.

P.S. It’s very chilly here.
