Dearest “Kiss and Rum boy,”

I received your letter today and I am answering it right away. So you don’t have to wait long for an answer.

You were right when you said Jean was kind of quiet. I’m so lonesome I don’t know what to do with myself. She is still sick.

I got a card from Bill today. I don’t know how long it took for that card to get to me.

I got a letter from Frank the other day and he feels pretty bad about you not answering his letter he wrote to you. Dot. S. and I are the only ones who write to him out of the gang.

Gu “darling”, how are those good-looking babes coming along out there. Don’t take them all at one time. Tomorrow’s another day. Just send some of those hugs and kisses for me. Don’t forget I don’t want to run after you kiss me.

Yea! That dumb Banbty and Pete wanted to take me and Tessie (I don’t think you know her) out last Thursday. Gosh they’re married and old enough to be my father. I was supposed to go out with Banbty. Picture me going out with that fat guy.

You know Hawkie’s grandfather. Well some soldier hit him with a car on Laurel and Ann Street and he flew 60 ft. He died instantly. He had 2 broken legs, a broken arm, fractured skull, and all ribs broken. Maybe you know the soldier that hit him. Gus Zemas from Carter Street. He’s on 2,000 bail pending further investigation.

I told that wicked Amazon that she’s not suppose to get sick anymore.

                        So long sweetheart and darling

                                    From you second fiddle,

                                                Marian
