Hi Darling:

What do you think of the ink? I had to borrow both the pen and paper as I am on duty and couldn’t get it any where else. So please excuse it.

Good news-The Ajutant seems to think that I and a fellow by the name of Amlin can get transfers into an Engineer Battalion back in the states. As you know I was a brakeman for the B. and O. R.R. when I was home and I guess they need men who know that kind of work rather badly. So now all he and I are doing is waiting now. So you see I now have two good chances to see you. Soon too I hope. Keep hoping and I’m praying I do see you by July.

What have you been doing of late? Not falling too hard for any other soilder but me. The harder you go my way the happier I will be. Just keep this in mind I am coming back, darling and you are going back to a town in Ohio to help keep me happy Of course you will be busy for I’ll be doing my best to make you the same. I do think you would like it back there and I know. I could be very happy having you there loving me + doing my best to keep you loved to death. I guess I’ll have to be careful or I’ll almost smother you when I get back. I need you so darned badly and want you more than you will ever know. Kiss me once tonight for keeps, dearest.

You should see my Sunburn. I was on the Range yesterday and had my sleeves rolled up. Now I can hardly bear anything to touch them. Have you had much nice weather lately? The states should be swelling now. Write Soon.
