Dearest Clara,

I have written all the news that I can think of, but I like to write one of these along with the other letters. I never know which one will get to you first. It seems like Idaho, Utah, and Montana are slower with mail. I guess it’s on the account of the way the planes fly. The mail has to go by train from your place to Pocatello before it meets the plane, doesn’t it honey? I have your picture up in front of me, so I can look at it once in a while. When I am writing, it’s nice to have it with me. I wish your mother a happy birthday and lots of luck to all of you. I will always be careful for you, and I know you will be for me dear. Write soon.

With all my love and kisses to my wife Clara,

                                                                                                Johnny
