Dearest Clara,

I’ll hurry and get this done, before the lights go out, I am feeling pretty good, the back of my neck has been bothering me some lately, like it used to, but I’ll be alright. I am getting sleepy, for some reason. We cleaned up around the place, for an inspection, the leaves blows all over the place. Bernice sure seems to be thrilled when she gets a letter from you honey. She has been very busy irrigating the bean crop, while Ben went with his brother to load cans in Montana. She better watch out or get webfooted huh! Well honey, I will say good-night and do be careful. Write often Sweetheart.

With All my Love to my Dear Wife Clara,

Love, Johnny
