Dearest Clara,

Honey, I didn’t think that I would get this one done for you, as it was getting late. I was getting ready for bed and the alert came, so we had to be at the gun. Didn’t get very much sleep. I am finishing this, this morning, while waiting for the mess truck, so it will be late getting to you. I got your letters answered last night. I sure had to hurry to get it done too. I might get a few lines written to Mother, as it will be a little while before the truck gets back. Honey, even though some people don’t give you credit for what you did for them, you can bet I will. I could say more, but I had better not, but you know how I feel about those things. We will get along just as good won’t we dear. Be real careful honey, and hope this get to you soon and I’ll do all I can for you. Maybe I’ll get a letter this morning.

With All My Love

To My Wife Clara,

Your Husband Johnny.
