My dearest, Maggie:

There is a new moon out tonight already. It doesn’t take long for the new one to come up. As I always told me before it reminds me of you. I love you so much my dear.

Was pretty busy all day again today, and I feel a little tired tonight. Been on my feet most of the day. It was rather is very hot here today, just like one of those days in the heat spell we had, probably another reason why I am tired. We are starting to get things lined up for the bivouac which is coming next week. I wish they would let us stay out for the three weeks and get it over with. I don’t mind going out in the field like I used to. It seems like an old thing to me.

Well honey you can forget about those train schedule I sent to you. Our date is off for the 28, 29, and 30. It doesn’t look like I will be getting to see you for a while longer. Maybe when you go to the hospital. There are no more three day passes, only in case of emergency. I guess our anniversary is no emergency.

I feel a slump coming on. I guess will start getting drunk on the P.X. beer every night from now on. There is only one thing good that happened to me since I am in the army, and that was when I met you. If I wouldn’t be married I’d tell them to go shove these stripes. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t married for that reason. These officers around here have bars but they don’t use them. They shove everything on the enlisted men. I’m liable to sound off too one of these days.

I didn’t have a letter from you today, but I think I should get one tomorrow. I didn’t have much chance to feel the blue today Maggie. I usually don’t receive a letter on Tuesday.

Do you have any need for little hand or face towels? I think they are only about 14 cents. If you think you want some let me know, then I will get some for you on pay day. Maybe you could use these towels for guest towels or to save some of the bath towels. Do you want anymore bath towels or wash cloths?

How are you feeling lately Maggie? I think about you all the time. I believe I am more interested in you this time than I was before. I must have changed, and also more in love with you. I guess by now your teeth are all fixed. How do they look now?

I’m not much in a mood for writing tonight although I am in a mood to love you. The motor Sgt’s wife is coming down on Saturday. I guess to stay. I’d ask you to come down for three days or so but the trip would be too much for you.

How is Allen? Probably running all over the house by now. Give him a big hug.

Goodnite my sweetest, dearest wife, Maggie. I love you with all my heart.

            All my love,

            Pres
