My dearest Marguerite:

Your call tonight made me feel so much better honey. I don’t know, but I had the feeling tonight that maybe you would call. I sure am glad I was on C.Q. tonight. I was damn mad when I found I was on. After working all week day and night I thought it would be good to have a night off and go to a show. Honestly honey, I would give ten dollars if I could sleep as long as I want in a good bed. Maybe you can collect. I haven’t had a good nights sleep since you were with me in Campbell.

You have me very excited now over that watch. I can hardly wait. I’m just like a kid I believe. All I need now is to be home with you once more for Christmas, but that day isn’t so important as long as I do get to see you for a couple of days. I love you Maggie.

I am so sorry I made you cry again honey. I always seem to say the wrong things. I should be cheering up instead of telling things you shouldn’t know. I promise I won’t mention it again.

Did you hear the --- parade tonight? There is one song I like called “There goes that song again”. I like it.

Tomorrow is Sunday again, and just another day for us. In the morning we have some films we must see. I had to take a couple of tests today (this afternoon) and I made a 90 or better in every one I took. This training goes on until the 15th of the month, then the boys that didn’t have any furloughs will get them. I had one within the last six months, but I believe I will get a few days. I am going to pray hard for it. I hope you will too.

I am glad you decided on a name for the baby. I knew you wouldn’t need any help from me. You ware good at picking out babies names. Are you going to call her Ellen?

Gee, I would like to do some dancing. I wish you would be in shape, we would go out and cut a rag. I don’t know when I had my last drink, it must have been in Clarksville with you. I reformed or maybe its just that I don’t get the chance anymore.

You are going to have another big telephone bill, but it is worth it. All I want you to do is save all the money you can. I am going to make an allotment out to you, then I won’t have to bother about money orders. You soon will be getting $150 a month, and if you can’t live on that I am going to look for another wife. Are you going to buy a house when you go home in the Spring?

I’ll be writing again tomorrow night, so what I forgot to tell you now I’ll tell you tomorrow.

I love you, truly I do. I’ll pray hard that I get to see you.

Goodnight my love,

            Pres.

Rays baby is getting so big and fat. He weighs 17 pounds now. By the way, how much does ours weigh now?

I almost forgot honey. I picked something up for you today. Its something like a sweat shirt only its for women. I was up at the quartermaster and happened to pick it up. I believe it was to be issued to the WAC’s. Its medium, and may fit. I thought maybe you could wear it when you go to bed, or under your clothes when you go out maybe to hang wash. I also have a small woolen one, also good to keep you warm when you go to bed. They will also remind you of me. You can make believe I am there. I am going to send some things as soon as I get a good box.

I guess this concludes tonights session of bull. I love you Maggie.

Goodnight sweety,

            All my love, Preston
