My darling Maggie:

I didn’t write last night as I didn’t have anything to write about and I just wasn’t in a mood for writing.  When I am in a good mood I can write and write.

Did you get that money order?  I hope it was enough for that was all I had especially at this time of the month.  If you need more ask mother and I will pay her back.  I’ll also tell her about it.  Now don’t be afraid to ask her.  I’ll take care of it.  If I would send you more later, you wouldn’t be there anymore to receive it.  Why don’t you buy a nice dress for when I come home, or your and my robes?  Maybe you can find the thing you are looking with lace and ruffles?  I believe we have a better selection than you could find in Fiffin.  Did you see any mid dresses or shoes you wanted?

I have two more pictures for you, but I won’t send them until I get yours.  I don’t know why you are waiting, I’m not going anyplace.  I am still sweating out that picture of you.

We had some miserable weather here and the last two days, with rain and cold.

Yesterday afternoon we had to play basketball as we now have a athletic schedule for a few afternoons a week.  Each section has a team, basketball and volleyball.  We played our first basketball game yesterday noon as I am with the H.Q.’s team. We won by a score of 40 to 13.  I was pretty lucky and was high score.  I made about 8 or 9 baskets for about 16 or 18 points.  It was just luck as I don’t think I could do it again.  I played for a while tonight it was only a practice game, the game ended in a tie.

I hear so much about Bobby I just can’t wait until I can see her.  Everyone seems to think she is so cute.  She sure takes after her Mommie, but she better not be the way you were.

Phyllin likes the kids too.  She says she puts Bobby to sleep some times and lies a long time with Collen.  Do they get along alright?

I am going to try to find out sometime if they can locate where Charlie is buried if he is.  If I can locate it maybe I can take a picture if I can get the use of a Camera.

George hasn’t been very active lately must be about time for you to be in the red again.  No?  It seems to be working out that way.  Do you think there is anything to it?

Does Ruth miss Bud very much?  I guess she will be lonesome there by herself.  Is she going to give it up, I mean the house?

I am very anxious to think that I may be home with you soon.  The war with Japan seems to be going along pretty good and it doesn’t seem like it will last very long.  I just can’t wait to be with you again my darling.  I love you very, very much.  Our first meeting and our honey moon have me all excited and give me something to look forward to.

I am thinking of you all the time my darling wife.  I only hope and pray it isn’t too much longer.  This has been the longest we have been apart, and I hope it isn’t as long as it has been.

I love you with all my heart Maggie.

Goodnite my Maggie.  We have a date tomorrow.

            Your very lonesome husband,
