Tues. Oct. 10

Dear Mom and Dad,

Well, there is not much new up here. Things are going just the same.

There was one little incident today. It is kind of funny now that it’s over.

A lot of the fellows have been coming in to be treated for crabs. If you don’t know what they are, ask Dad.

So, today the Captain had a personal inspection of everybody. Boy did I feel cheap when he found a bunch of them on me! I didn’t even know I had them. They hadn’t bothered me in the least. I got rid of them right away, though. I have some stuff here that kills them right now. It sure did burn. It left me kind of sore. I got rid of them anyway. I must have gotten them off the toilets.

How’s everything down home? I sure am sorry to hear about your car. It seems like those things run in streaks. Maybe that will be the end of it anyway.

Well it’s about time for us to go and fix our midnight meal, so I had better close.

Give my love to all, and tell them to write. I’ll try and answer them all eventually.

            Bye, bye. Write often.

Love,

Jack

P.S.  I go down to get my first paycheck tomorrow. I will get more than I figured on. The first allotment is on the house. So, I get a full check minus my insurance only. That is a good deal.

Love,

Jack
