Dear Mom and Dad,

Well, here is my stuff. Put them away for me so I’ll have them when I come home. If you put the band and the emblem back on the hat I think it will go back in shape all right.

There’s not much new to say for today. The food is really swell here and as I said before they really treat us like kings here compared to boot camp. We’re getting all our clothing marked today. We are on the alert and just awaiting the order to pull out. Quite a few of us have been able to stay together so far. It looks like we will even be together on the boat. We will go either to Frisco or Seattle to get aboard. Our Sargent says we will probably pull out Saturday morning. We’re going to have to smuggle my knife thru. We’re supposed to turn them in here and get them back when we get a class. But we don’t get any receipt or anything so I doubt if we would even see them again if we turned them in. almost everybody brought some kind of weapon along.

It rained here all day yesterday but it is a beautiful day today. It’s almost hot.

There’s not much else to say for now. We’re sure all getting awful impatient to get going. We sure have gotten a lot of nice new equipment.

You probably won’t hear from me again until I’m on my way and then it will be censored.

Tell everyone hello for me and not to worry. I’ll be home again before you know it.

            Bye, and love to all.
