Mon. June 25

Dear mom and Dad,

Well, hello from Hawaii this time. We got here a couple days ago. I decided not to phone you as I am going to fly on to Frisco in a few days, and I will call you from there.

I had a wonderful trip here. We flew all the way. That makes quite a few miles I’ve flown now. It’s just 12 hours by air from here to Frisco.

I had just started to get mail when I left the Marianas. I don’t guess it will ever catch up now.

I would have quite a little time at home after they operate again. It’s a similar deal like Sgt. Ferris had.

I will be in a large vernacular center in Frisco. The army doesn’t have one in L.A. or they would put me there.

They place you as close to home as they can.

I got one letter from Aunt Sissie the day before I left, but there is still none from you. Don’t write here because I won’t be here long enough to get them.

Well, there’s nothing new. I’m feeling fine. I hope everybody at home is the same.

My love to you all and I will see you before long.

                        Love,

                        Jack
