Dear Joy & Mother,

I got your letters in pretty good time, as will try a few of these myself.  I received these letters today, one from you on the 11th, one from Mother on the 13th, and your V-mail of the 11th, so you can see how much faster that is, at this time.  I don’t have much news, except that I feel o.k. now, except for a cough.  I am off work tomorrow so I am going to stay in, and, try to get rid of that.  By the time you get this it will be about election time, and we will see how that comes out.  I mailed my ballot in several days ago, and, I guess you know how I marked it.  Maybe by next election time the war will be over, at least I hope so, as long as it don’t look like it will be by Christmas.  That is about all the space I have on this, so that’s about all for this time. (Hope the packages get here before Christmas.)

                                                                                                Love,
