Dear Mom and Pop:

I’m sorry I haven’t written for a while but I waited till I got a new pen at the Canteen because I broke the point on the one I had. Dad is right about the date for visitor, it is the 16^th of Sept. If Uncle Ken can come down then it won’t be any trouble for you to come down. Our company got there picture taken today in our dress blues, so I guess I’ll have it by the time you come down. My pictures will be done next Monday so I’ll send them home as soon as I can.

Boy I really have a lot of letters to answer so I’m going to write as many as I can before I go on watch. Dick Scheel wrote me another long letter (13) pages. All the fellows seem to answer pretty regularly. I also just got a letter from Bob Fost. He says he wishes I could go down the shore with him, Ray, Bill Dael, and Dale Walker but I guess I’ll see enough of the Ocean. I got a letter from Ginnie and Hartmens’ in the Army. I guess I told you that already. I only have four more weeks to go and I’m not too disappointed either. We have a pretty good time here though. In our physical training hour we play volly ball, and football. Well I’ll have to close now so I can go on watch pretty soon.
