Dear Mom & Dad,

I just received your letter this afternoon. I feel pretty good now. I’m an up patient and living the life of Riley. All I do is get up in the morning, eat breakfast, read a little while until dinner, go to the canteen and come back and take a nap. I think tonight I‘ll go to the show and see the “Enchanted Forest.” I expect to go back to duty in a few days and maybe I’ll get home this weekend. That’s maybe, I’m not saying for sure. After I get out of here I’ll have to go to the dentist to see about my plate. For all I know they may take another impression. In a way I hope they have to, and then I might be able to get home for Christmas. Of course you never know what’s going to happen from one day to the next. Well I’ll close now.
