Dear Mom and Pop:

Well I’m still in the Hospital.  I haven’t had a letter from you in a while so I thought I’d better write another letter.  I’m still running a temperature sometimes its high sometimes it’s low.  I don’t feel too bad though.  I think I just have a bad case of the grip.  If I am lively I might be home for Christmas, that is if I can stay in the bed long enough.  Don’t ever count on anything.  I say about coming home.  I just got a letter from Hartman, and he says he’ll be home Christmas, New Years and he’ll be here for the prom.  Well mom I’ll have to close now.

My love

Alfred
