Dear Mom & Pap:

Well here it is Saturday with not much to do except write letters and lay around.  We only have a half day of school on Saturday and then were off till Monday, except if we’re on duty. We don’t have any liberty this weekend or next weekend because our whole class is restricted. Boy, its really nice weather here. It feels just like May or June. I still think Philadelphia is better. I expect to go to sea when I finish school, but there is a slight chance I may go to Washington, Philadelphia or someplace on the east coast. I hope Pap soon gets back to work. Well I guess I’ll close now. All my love and take care of yourself.
