Dear Mom and Pop:

July 28, 1946

I just received a letter from you yesterday, and today I got some more mail from you that was a little back date. Well there’s not much to say as you wrote most of it in my last letter. It’s too bad about the Nichol’s kid. I guess you know you don’t have to worry about me. You know how I’ve always felt about it anyway.

Well I’ll be glad when I head back to the states. I’ll be a very happy guy when and if I get to Washington. Well Mom and Pop I’m going to close now.

All my love,

Alfred
