Dear Mom and Pop:

I haven’t had a chance to write to you all week as we’ve been pretty busy. Jake had to move over to Qtrs. K where I was before over in Arlington.

I want to tell you that I won’t be home this weekend. Leidekin and Ward are shipping out to Bikini this coming Monday and also the fellows from Norfolk are coming up and it will probably be the last chance I have to see them.

I took a day off work yesterday to move me to the barracks. That was some job. I still don’t have all my gear moved over. I guess I’ll have to get busy and get rid of some stuff.

The barracks over at Arlington Va. had changed since I was over there last time. Now we have a lot of weekend watches, and since I made 3rd Class it won’t be so bad, but it will be bad enough.

Neel I’ll see you next weekend I suppose.

                        All my love

                                    Alfred
