Dear Mom and Pop,

I just received your letter and money last night.

When I wrote that last letter I didn’t plan on coming home this weekend.  Only after I mailed the letter it came to me that this weekend was Mothers’ Day, so I decided to come home after all.  Now you’re just out 10 bucks.  The watches are coming close to me and I might have one this weekend, but I’ll let you know whether I get one or not.

I hope Mom soon feels okay by this weekend anyhow.  Now don’t go out and get a whole lot of things in because I’ll be home.

            It’s too much work.

I’ll probably be home Friday night sometime if I don’t get a watch.

            See you soon.

All my love,

Alfred
