Dear Mom and Pap

Just a few lines to let you know I’m doing. The truth of the matter is I’m not feeling so hot. They send me out here to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. yesterday for that old navy sickness of “cat” fever. I’m not feeling too bad now, just a little light headed, and my bowels are a little fouled up. I should be out of here in about 3 or 4 days.

It’s a pretty mil hospital, much better than that one at Bainbridge. This place is just outside of the District, so don’t let that Bethesda, Md. throw you.

Like I said before it’s a pretty good place except for the chow. It’s always cold.

I didn’t think I’d ever get out here, but leave it to me. We just had a YN first class repost in to the office. May be they’ll find out how expendable I am.

Now don’t you worry about how I am and don’t tell everybody that I’m here. Chances are it will be all over Church Sunday if you did. Not that it makes any difference but you know how some people blob.

I hope by now that you’re feeling alright, Mom. Now take care of yourselves. See you soon.

                                    All my love

                                                Alfred
