Dear Mother:

Received your well letter yesterday and I’m always very glad to hear from my darling mother. Glad you all in the best of health and as for me I’m just fine. I suppose by now your either moving or getting ready to so I won’t expect you to write. I know you’re going to be busy and I hope Thelma can help you or that you can get somebody for its going to be too much for you alone. Do you hear me? I expect to be leaving on my furlough by the 1st of July that is if they don’t change their minds. At least I hope they don’t. In Rita’s letter today she said she saw you and Pa down town. Oh yes my paper has expired so I’m not getting it anymore. I got the notice today. By the way I got a paper today saying that I’m going to get the good conduct medal so you see I’m a good boy and they’re still Raimey in home huh ma. But of course we’ll have to give the Smiths a little credit Ha-ha. As for training it’s still the same and boy will I be glad to get my furlough and get away from this army life for awhile. They say change is as good as a rest and believe me it’s going to do me a lot of good. Will must be closing for tonight and don’t work to hard while moving huh ma and tell Pa to take it easy too. So must be closing and don’t worry I’m taking good care of myself.
