Dear Hon:

Good evening darling.  I am alone for a while so I am taking advantage of the peaceful moments in writing to you dear.  Somehow I can think more clearly when I am home alone, no interruptions.  Sylvia, she and Ma F. went to the hospital to visit Olga R. as she had a baby girl a few days ago.  I didn’t care to go as I don’t know her at all.

I feel very tired tonight as put in a good days work today.  I worked with Mary and Wanda in the Cafeteria this noon, after dinner I had to go with another girl to the drug room and weigh saccharine for 1 ½ hr.  I got back and Helen asked me to come on Male side for supper.  Boy, what a day.  I should sleep well tonight as I always do when tired.

Did you have a nice time at the party?  I hope so darling.  It will make me happy when you write me what a nice time you had.

Today’s letter was the one you wrote while waiting for a truck convoy to come and pick you up.  Darling, I appreciate your writing to me before you left, sweetheart if possible I would do the same for you.

Here I am again sweet, I had to stop writing for a few minutes as the door bell rang.  I went to answer it and guess who it was?  A man picking up names for the honor roll.  I gave him your name and Bus’.  He told me that they talked about it for a long time but no one did anything about it until he started.

Mary had a letter from Walt and Wanda today, as usual it was full of questions.  I wrote them a lovely letter about your homecoming and how wonderful it was to see you I’ll bet she never wrote a letter like that.  She probably wouldn’t know how.

Tomorrow is my day off and we also have the weekend off.  We would like to go home for the weekend if the weather permits.  We have plenty of snow yet but it turned warmer today.  The sun shone bright all day long.  It almost gave you spring fever.  When you write how warm it is in La. I almost envy you.

Sweetheart, I can’t wait till I get the Claiborne news so that I can see your picture in it.  Always something to look forward to, that’s what keeps the world going, it’s the little things that make us happy, like getting your picture in the paper.  There was a time when I couldn’t get excited over nothing but now its different, a picture tucked in with your letter, a card for my birthday or holidays and oh so many things that keep me excited and happy.  Each morning when I wait for the mailman’s footsteps on our porch, I get all excited and run for that letter that I love so much to get.  Its things like these that make us forget the real sadness of it all.  Life is very funny, isn’t it darling?  There is a lot of disappointment mixed in with it but who cares, we can take [it], can’t we dear?

I bought an Easter card that I am forwarding to you darling as I want you to send it home to your folks.  I shall get one for my mother and send it myself.  Perhaps a polish card.

Sweetheart darling, it is exactly 1 hr. since I started this letter, time sure flies.  I would like to drop Leo a line and inform him that we are well and hope to be home for the weekend.

Goodnight Sweetheart, may God bless you and take good care of you for me.

I Love you dear with all my heart.  I hope that we can be together soon.

                                                                        Your Loving Wife.

P.S. I want to dream of you tonight darling. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
