            Dear Hon:

Good evening Sweetheart dear. I received the York Magazine, Claiborne News, Two letters from you dear, one intended for tomorrow and also a letter from Walt and Wanda. The one from Walt and Wanda was a very brief one and full of mistakes. She either didn’t have her mind on her writing or else she was too tired. Oh well, I’m lucky I get one at all.

The letters from you were lovely dear, they were of Sun. and Mon. You were to go on guard for the first time since your furlough. I figured that you would be getting it soon. Your details were so much of a different nature than in the past. I was very glad for your sake dear.

The York magazine is full of war news. The Eniwetok incident should be very interesting to Kitty. She may surely ask me for it when she gets here tonight. I rested a bit and got up early enough so that I might write to you darling before my company comes. You always come first dear. Company comes next.

It was snowing out today but it is all clear now and very promising for tomorrow. The last day of March

will no doubt be like a lamb as it came in like a lion. I’m glad to see April come as it reminds one of the beautiful days ahead. The thought of being able to stay outside till late in the evening is comforting enough. The days will go by so much faster and so much quicker my honey will be coming home to me.

I will be expecting that package that you sent home dear. It does not seem possible that you have so much extra clothing to send home. I can’t believe dear that you require a 17 neck, on your shirt. You were husky enough when home and never wore over a 16. The army figures for comfort, so it could be possible.

The house is very warm today considering how it has been in the past few days. The wind blew so hard that it took the heat right out. I’ll be happy when the house stays comfortable without the heat. That day is not far off I’m sure.

Darling you asked me about Leo. There isn’t much I can tell you as we don’t ask him any questions, we only know what he comes to tell us. So far he let us know that he is figuring on getting married in June. He is

not planning to live at home. Edith wants to live in Oriskany Falls. They have a place in mind, it’s a small bungalow. Leo intends to ride back and forth home to work. I will tell you more news when I hear more.

Here I am again Sweetheart. It is 11:15. Kitty and Wanda just left. They caught me in the midst of writing to you my darling. We had a very enjoyable evening together. We had a lot of fun on 6 bottles of beer. They are nice company. We will pay Wanda a visit soon. Winky hasn’t been home as yet. All furloughs were canceled and he is headed for a P.O.E. She may see him in New York City as that is where he is headed for.

The conversation as usual was about our husbands. Your name was mentioned very often tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if your ears were ringing Honey. It was all good, I always speak well of you dear.

Kitty brought along some Italian cookies and did we enjoy them.

Well sweetheart darling, I must close as it is very late and I feel very tired. It was fun having the girls over and even if I will be tired in the morning I wont [come to] mind it much.

Goodnite Darling and I hope my dream is all of you. “God Bless You.”

I Love You.                                                                  Your Loving Wife
