Thursday 7:30 A.M.                                                                             April 6 -1944

            Dear Hon:

Good morning Sweetheart. I heard the birds singing early this morning so must be that spring is actually here. Today is Holy Thursday and we intend to visit some churches tonight. In each one darling I will say a prayer for you.

We went home late yesterday afternoon and stayed for about 3 hours then decided to come back home as we had to buy an Easter card for Leo’s girl as he neglected getting one so far. After seeing mine he decided he would like to give her one. By the way darling, I shall frame my Easter card and hang it up in the bedroom as it is too nice to put away. I also had some eggs to deliver to Kitty and her mother. Everyone wants eggs for Easter. Zs used to come and pick up all the eggs your Ma had as long as they were 25¢ now that she raised the price to 30 they decided they did not want anymore. Come to find out Joe Z. was selling them in the city and he was mad as he couldn’t make enough if he had to pay 30. Isn’t that the way of the Zs. Always looking for an easy way to make money.

I didn’t write you before darling that we all received invitations for Carl’s wedding. He is going all out for it. Leo told us yesterday that Carl bought up $400 worth of liquor, 2 cases rum, and 5 barrels of beer. The reception is to take place in the Falcon home. Darling my mind is made up right now and that is that I am not going. Weddings don’t excite me with the world being as it is. This is hardly the time to put on such a big splash. What’s more his wife will stay in Utica and Carl will live alone as usual as she has a good paying job at Remington and Carl wouldn’t want her to lose it. Would you say he was in love? He intends to sell the farm after the war is over and live in the city. The old rotten draft dodger. He is probably scared to death so he won’t have to go. He is nothing but and old yellow belly and money greedy.

Your dad isn’t feeling so well these days. He says he will have to give up working soon. If only this war would end I’m sure that things would be different. You could always come home and help out darling.

I will close now my darling and my sweetest man in all the world. I miss you and love you very, very much. I hope before another spring comes you will be home darling and then I shall be as happy as I can possibly be. We will all be happy. I Love you darling.

“God Bless You.”                                 XX Your Loving Wife.
