Dear Mom,

April 23-45

Guess what’s been keeping me from writing you sooner this Sunday evening. (I always date my letters for the next day- tonight is Sunday Apr. 22) I’ve been thumbing through a Spring-Summer Mont[gomery] Ward catalog. Remember how we used to fight over the new Sears catalog. I guess I looked longest at the records. They have quite a selection this year. Gosh just think what a guy could do if he only had money. I drew about $45 this month (a little less actually), but $4 out, and a now I have about

$1.00 left. Sure, I know where it all went- but it went too f------ fast. Anyhow- I did pretty good because I’ll have something to show for it- (or that is, you will.) About 15 went for pictures. That should satisfy everybody, I hope!!! All I’ve been leaving is “Please send me a picture”) I didn’t know I was such an important person. I guess that picture idea works both ways across the ocean, equally. I think this time I’ll let you get all the pictures and write you directions for sending them to Paul, Richard, etc. That’s enough, some of

it has to be a surprise. Then, I guess the rest of that money went into bike supplies- movies and miscellaneous. I just spent this afternoon putting new tires on the bike. It surely takes a lot of time and repair work. But I guess if I didn’t have it, along with all the dirty- greasy repairs- I’d be complaining for what to do in my spare time. It’s getting good tennis weather, and I should have played already. But somehow I felt a little too tired physically to chase

around the tennis court. You see, I’m working in the hangar-tossing boxes around etc- instead of topping now. I think it’s better all around all the bikes needs this time is a new pedal- and she is serviceable- (I hope)

Please write soon and tell me how everything is coming along at the farm. I’m thinking of all of you all the time. Please give everybody my love.

Sorry there’s nothing more to say- and it’s getting to be “sock time” God bless you all. P.S. The key case selection is just what your love son I need. Thanks

Chuck
