Blue Monday

About 10:30 P.M.

At home in bed.

Ila got her birthday card today and I didn’t know it was her birthday or I might have gotten her something.

Dearest Ralph,

I got two letters today. I was real glad to hear from you. There wasn’t much doing at the store today because we wasn’t allowed to sell hardly anything.

Honey in both of your letters I got today you asked me for stationery. I sent you some this morning. I hope you get it O.K. Well Ralph you asked me I remembered the time we parked under the old oak trees. I didn’t know they were oak trees but I knew you were there. I liked it sometimes but ________. Those were the good old day back in ’42. I wish I had a nickel for everytime you kissed me there and I’d quit working tomorrow.

Honey I hope you like the study of Radio. I know you will make good grades because you’re the brightest boy in Camp Davis.

I’m going to send a payment to the car either tomorrow or Wed. It is due the 28th. After that we will only have two more payments. If I keep on working I can pay them all myself and pay Johnny for the payment he made. We were talking about the next payment tonight. I told him I had the money and would take care of it this week. I’ll take care of your income tax papers honey, so just forget all about the stuff. I don’t want you to worry about anything and just come back to me as soon as possible. Ralph I’m not going to write much because it’s getting kinda late. I sent you two letters this morning. You should get a letter every day. Well honey I love you and I’m waiting for you. The time goes so slow when your away. Honey don’t worry about me because I’m feeling fine again. I’ll not worry about you since I sure will think about the only person I love. I wish you were home tonight but since your not I’ll have to lie down + imagine you are.

So long,

With love

            Marge

I wish these were real. Do you?

I let Ila read a letter of mine and Norma asked what the big “X” was on there for. She couldn’t understand.
