Dearest Marge,

Well Honey I’ll try and tell you where I am. I’m in Tennessee somewhere about (1) mile form the Cumberland River and 10 or 11 miles from Lebanon. We left C. Breck at 8AM yesterday and got here last night. Then we had to unload all the junk and some of us never got to bed at all. Today we slept most of the day and now we just got back from the River where we were swimming. It’s about 100 yards wide and about 365 ft. deep. Some fun. You should see the place. By the way we don’t have bathing suits. They say we will move somewhere close next week but until then we don’t know. There are plenty of rocks here. All sizes. And snakes too. We got paid tonight. All the way to $23.90. Some pay wasn’t it. Oh well there isn’t any place to spend it here anyway. Maybe we will get back to Camp Breckinridge in a couple months. They say we are here for 8 weeks.

I hope it doesn’t rain cause I haven’t any tent up yet. Just too lazy to I guess. By the way my address is:

There are a lot of crap games going on around here tonight and this morning some of the fellows didn’t have a penny.

There aren’t any mosquitoes here but wood ticks and chiggers. Also pine trees. It’s not bad so far. I haven’t shaved for three days now and you can imagine what I look like or can you.

Marge you might as well forget about coming to see me cause I don’t know where you would get a room around here. This way we don’t know how long or how often we can get to town. If any. We left a lot of stuff stored at Camp Breckinridge and maybe after while we will get back there.

Honey I wish I could see you but I guess it’s impossible now. Don’t forget I love you and always will. Boy Marge I wish I had another furlough right now. I’d come home and we would have some fun.

Well Honey I never got this finished last night. I’ll write more tonight. Don’t forget I love you more than anything else in this old world. I love you and trust you Marge and always will.

I have to go on a hike now.

                                                Love,

                                                Ralph
