                                                                                                Friday Evening

Hello Sweetheart,

Well I got a lot of mail today.  Two letters from you and one from your mother.  Boy I really love to hear from you.  I haven’t much to do tonight, we may not have an inspection tomorrow.  After one every day this week one more won’t do any harm.  Some bunk too.  Personally I think its a bunch of ______.

Honey I don’t know what to tell you about planning on coming down.  The way things look now we may leave here anytime and it would just be your luck to get here after we left.  If I was you I think I’d wait a little while before making too many plans.  It’s not that I don’t want you here but it’s just possible by that time I wouldn’t be here.  Boy Marge I would really and truly love to see you and be with you.  All the fellows are just sitting here trying to figure this out and it doesn’t make sense.  There is just the possibility that we may be here for some time.  One never knows.

Marge I think you made a mistake in that code I sent.  Now I can’t remember what I wrote.  If you still have that letter send me it again.  I think you made a mistake copying it.

Honey you told me if there is anything back there that I want to tell you.  There’s only one thing I really want and that’s you.  Boy I’d give a lot if I could be with you now.  Another thing about you coming down then.  They may cancel all the passes any time.  That’s something else we can’t control.  I know you will be disappointed but neither you nor I can help that.

I really would have liked the present your mother sent.  Remember those insoles you sent a long time ago.  They never got here either.  If the package was insured and they can’t find it.  The P.O. will have to pay what it was insured for [and] it won’t be a complete loss.

I saw a good show the other night.  It didn’t have much sense to it but it was a good comedy.  “The Miracle of Morgans Creek”.  We see some pretty good shows here.  That’s about all the entertainment there is here.

Marge I’m going to close this tonight.  I’ll write you a big letter tomorrow.  Honey I wish I could see you but I think you better wait until you here more from me.  I hate to disappoint you but you know how things are.  I love you and always will.  Honey I’m being just as true to you as I can.  I love you too much to be untrue to you.  Here’s a really sweet kiss.

                                    Your Husband,                         XXXXX
