Sunday 7:00 A.M.

Honey:

Are you surprised at the early date line? Well, since it didn’t make any difference in the mailing whether I wrote last night or this morning (mail leaves at 09:30) and I had a headache last night, I figured today would be a better time to write.

Guess Ray is due here today. I’ll wait for him at headquarters and welcome him home.

I haven’t heard anything definite about my next assignment, but they sent out a draft of 30 Yeomen just the other day and I missed that one, so I went to Central Administration to try to find out why I was missed and when I could expect something to happen to me.

The man told me that I had been re-ordered August 1st and that I could expect to hear within 2 or 3 days about my orders.

A couple of hours after I’d been there I got a call from Central Administration Selection office to call a Mr. Hurley – gee, I got all excited, and thought: now this is something I’ve been waiting for. Sure was disappointed to find out that it was only a guy from Madrid, Sis and I had gone to school with. We never were good friends, but he invited me up to see him, so I guess maybe I will, because in his department they make up all the drafts – maybe. I can get some advance information about my assignment.  As you can gather from the above, all we live for and wait for here, is to get our assignments, and we only have 3 days here after the good word so you see we’re kind of busy after that and naturally I’ll let you know just as soon as I hear. Course by the time you get my letter I’ll be on the train.

Guess by now you already received the check right – I got skunked on that deal after all, right. Oh well, someday I’ll get even with the P.O. department for not cashing N.N.G.Co.’s check.

There’s something I’ve been trying to remember to write about, but with all the noise here in the office I can’t get my thinker a-thinking. Anyway guess it’s not too important. Oh, yes, let me know about my watch.  I sure hate living without a watch. Will write more later today.

                                                All my love,

                                                            Ivica
