Dear Sister,

We are fine and I hope you are all the same.

Gee I have been lucky, I got home at 6 P.M. tonight and I was supposed to work until 11:30. Mary works until 9 tonight so I’m listening to Truth or Congruencies; boy it surely is good.

This newspaper out here the Denver Post is surely a stinking Republican sheet and the best part of the whole thing is that right around here it is Dem. And you should hear it on the street they will have fights if the election isn’t soon over with. I personally feel that the thing is in the bag for the President.  All S.T.’s are for him and they influence a lot of votes.  How does the election look back home they wink that PA and NY will really decide the election?

Boy they are still shipping men out right and left from here whatever the idea is but at the rate they’re going it won’t be long until the field isn’t going to be able to keep shifts in the air. Well maybe they know what they’re doing but I’m beginning to wonder for we just got a new batch of training planes of quite a few different types so a guy can’t really figure it out at all.

I got my refund from my income tax the other day it was really more than I thought it would be, well anyway I bought a band and had some left over. Did you get your refund yet?

I guess you are thrilled by the naval victory in the Pacific.  I think it is swell if they are telling us the truth about our losses, but are they?

Well I have a few letters to answer so I’ll do that right now. Yours first Kathryn, I never thought you’d keep kids in so you could write me.

Too bad about Tom H.  I guess his days are numbered.  You old meany you going to flunk a while batch of kids I think it really is a dirty trick or are you going to try and scare some of the kids into doing a little more work.

So Sonny W. is gone to the Army well I am kind of sorry to hear that for he was a cute kid before he was moved into the wrong neighborhood also before his parents didn’t let up on their job. It does seem rather round about the way he goes to New Cumberland.  I wonder what kind of an outfit they’ll put him in.

Yea Irma I know what you say about the politics, but really now, if we weren’t at war would you agree to a 4th term?  Not me, but than maybe it is better to put the bread lines off until the war is over and the Republican can give us apples to sell.

We might be on the road to Tokyo but it looks likes a damn hard road or is it going to become easier when the election is over well we will soon see but we are surely are taking it on the chin in China next we’ll lose the bases our 29’s they should get them more secure as they tell the English to start a damn good campaign out of India.

Boy you are having quite a cold weather back home a lot colder than out here.

That’s good we are still at the tope of the league I hope they stay there.

I enjoyed your story also your program.

I’m listening to the Hit Parade and the women surely give me a pain the ass the way they holler and carry on when the damn 4F Seneator (if that is how you spell it) uniform comes along you know a pile of man and not a pile of shit for men win wave and not that feminine voiced lilly.

Well I shot my mouth off enough so I’ll sign off for now.

                        So Long

                                    Love

                                                John
