Dear Sisters:

Christmas is just about over & it surely was an odd one again for me Saturday the civilian working in our hangar had a chicken dinner for us it was real nice of them & they surely had everything they had to make it all at home & bring it out very nice indeed.

Then for Sunday we had two of the fellows in from out at the field & we had a chicken & all the field & we had a chicken & all the trimmings here which was very nice.

Today we went out to the field & here is one of the menus which will explain itself I am sure.

We got very nice things for presents socks, tobacco, razor blades, pipes, shaving lotion & soap, film, bedroom or dressing slippers plus about ten dollars in cash.  In my next letter I’ll tell you who all sent me cards.

I have some letters here to answer & I’ll do it now.  That movie [“An] American Romance” sounds good I believe it was here.  We are both well & hope we remain that way.  I’d like to read that book [Brave Men] by Ernie Pyle sometime.

We really had a very nice Christmas together & I really enjoyed it but there was something missing then the fact of what the future holds in store kind of dampened our spirits but maybe by next Christmas the end will be here lets hope so.

I was to church Sunday morning I didn’t like the sermon at all I’ll enclose the program.

I believe I’ll sign off for this time & get ready for bed.

So Long

                                                                                    Love

               John.
