Dear Sister:

It has been another one of those rare spring days it surely has been beautiful out to-day working outside with our sleeves rolled up & even sweating a little.  No telling what it will be like tomorrow however maybe rare also.

Mary must have intestinal griffe after, she eat she gets a sharp pain & sometimes when she is sitting around.  She won’t go to the doctors & is working to day yesterday she came home at noon just couldn’t stick it out.  I am fine & hope that I remain that way.

There are rumors flying around plenty thick around here just now that the next class of cadets will be the last me here that the field is going to he turned over to the 2nd air force & they are closing most of those they take.  Its kind of hard to believe however for they shipped about 200 men in here from Alburque, N.M. were that field was closed but than you never came be sure about anything in the dam army.

We are still trying to find what is wrong with the engines that we can’t get full power out of it’s surely one that stumps the experts but regurlarless its one of those things that should have an answer but yet we can’t find it they have factory men here & they are stumped like mine so----

I go on night shift again I am never stuck on that shift as you have no free time & you sleep to much but it is better 24 hour shifts in some hell hole in Burma or like that.

I have letters here from each of you so I’ll answer them now.

Yours first Irma.  You surely are a sly one not telling the kids it is cold so they don’t complain.

I guess waste paper really is needed badly for they are after it around here plenty.

That is something with Sonny Willing getting leave after he was assigned to a boat I guess it really is a week end pass he must have all his shots & stuff if he is read to leave  I guess you don’t now if he got yellow fever or not if he did you now were he is going.

That Huegal family must be plain trash I don’t get it.

My, My I never thought you’d lick any of your angels, Siona you really should be ashamed.

You get my letter in good shape.  I really don’t think the mail service is to bad.

Those papers the Atters gave out were a good thing a lot of people are looking out for there own for he to to hell with the lives that may be lost

I got the check O.K.  Mildred it really got here in very good time if you ask me.

I was surprised that Marlin Schaeffer accepted a church when I was home on furlough he told me he was going to go into the Naval’s Chaplain’s Corp  I really don’t get it.

Mrs Jackson must have been a mess I guess it is just as well that she shipped out.

Yep Cologne has fallen & we are across the Rhine I hope it is soon over with over there for it surely has been a dam bloody mess.

Yea we see the jack rabbits all the time the dam things are every were they aren’t good eating however at least that is what the native say.

I got a letter from Frank & he wants to know if I sent those cigarettes or if you bought them & just don’t want to take anything for them.  He surely is strange in some things.

Its nice Raymond Whitetime got home & came by to see you.  He is now going to start his first step as a cadet he gets his ground work

It’s nice that Noble R. likes it on Liyte  I didn’t now there were many English speaking native there.

Hope none of you get that dam scarlet fever thats floating around it must be bad.

How are the rivers around home are they high & wild.  It must be bad along the Ohio.

                        Take care of yourselves,

                                                So Long

                                                     Love

                                                         John
