Dear Mom:

Just got time for a few lines. Say I haven’t heard from you in several days now, come on Mom, don’t let me down.

Well I go up for my solo check tomorrow then either tomorrow or Saturday I will solo. That will really be a swell feeling too to be able to take the plane up alone and do as you please, well almost anyway. I’ll let you know when I do solo.

I went to the beach Tuesday which was my day off and played about on the sand awhile and took on a little sun. Went up to Santa Barbara and Ventura too. Rather small towns.

Mom, I have no news at all so I will be closing for now. Give my love to pop and Ben for me.
