Dear Ben:

Your letter received yesterday and was very glad to hear from you again. Getting so you are pretty sharp at this letter writing aren’t you? I noticed a couple of mistakes and I will correct them for you if you like so you can be learning something all the time.

Haven’t been doing much lately but flying bombing missions. Went up to St. Louis on a cross-country trip and we stopped in Oklahoma City and I got to go through a B-29. It is really a huge airplane. More gadgets in it and it is all sealed up for pressure flying. Has a tube running along the tope of the bomb bay connecting the pilot’s compartment with the radar operators in the rear. He fires all the guns automatically. Quite an airplane, but I wouldn’t want to fly it.

I’ll see what I can do for you in the way of patches. But that place in Atlanta has more different kinds than any place I have seen yet.

There is not much doing around here except some flying each day. Other than that I just take it easy.

Guess I had better close and get some sleep as I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning.

                                                                                                Your brother,

                                                                                                            Roy
