Dear Ben:

Sure wish you could have been here yesterday and could have seen those new jet-propelled jobs. Boy that is a beautiful airplane.

They are called P-59A and have two jets on them, not out on the wings like other twin-engine ships, but the jets are flush up against the fuselage.

When they start up, fire shoots out the back for about 10 feet, then only heat comes out, you can see the heat waves. They look a little like the P-39, they have tricycle landing gear and are single-seaters.

They had all the guns in the nose like the P-38, it has 3-50 caliber machine guns and 1-20 millimeter cannon.

The ship maneuvers beautifully, looks like it will out turn the zero and out run anything with wings.

It gives off no sound except a high pitched whistle like the wind blowing real hard.

One of them took off and did slow-rolls going straight up, did a loop from zero altitude and buzzed the field about four times going so fast you could hardly see him. Really is a fine plane.

Better go to sleep now. Maybe the weather will be good tomorrow and we can go back to Albuquerque.

Love from your bro.
