Dear Mom:

I have finished my schooling here, almost that is, and I am already alerted for shipment for shipment. We are clearing the field on the 10th. but as yet we don’t know where we are going. I am certain I won’t be sent near home, I don’t have that kind of luck. We hear rumors that we are going to Mountain Home, Idaho. Sure hope I don’t go way up there away from everything.

We have had nearly a week of schooling here, we started in Sunday morning after we arrived Saturday. Had lots of talks from men who’ve returned from combat, lectures on first aid, survival in case we are shot down and a whole gang of stuff. I know we will never have to use it cause I don’t think I’ll ever get  over what with the new bomb and the Russians entering the war. I wish something would happen so I could get on over before it all ends.

I will wire you as soon as I know where I am going and if you don’t hear right away, don’t worry-I’ll let you know when I get there. I’m not going overseas so don’t start thinking that.

There is absolutely no news so I will be closing for now.

                                                                                                My love to all,

                                                                                                                        Roy
