My dearest Hal,

Any time that you get tired of reading these foolish letters of mine just let me know and I wont even bother to write them any more. I don’t know one bit of news to tell you and I only write because I want you to know that you are never out of my thoughts and I can do nothing else for you.

I see by a letter that I had from you this morning that you don’t even know that we got our presents. Sam was delighted with his little animals and I’ve had a hard time persuading him to put them up so nothing can happen to them.

The day the rug came was surely a day to celebrate. I am crazy about it. I don’t believe I have ever seen a rug so lovely as this one. It is so much prettier than Elizabeth’s and hers are quite handsome. I was as thrilled to hear that you had gotten another one. Please get several small ones if possible. We can never hope to have any as nice as this unless you get them now.

Two weeks ago today I mailed you three packages. One was the pictures of Sam and me; one was a box of Rai Tan Cigars and one was 1 lb. of tobacco. I will send more cigars and tobacco in a week or so. I do hope you will get these things and they arrive in good condition.

                                                All my love,
