Dear Vincent,

Well my mind is made up after tonight.  Clark got paid today and he and Betty went out and got drunk.  Mom and Esther went to the show and that left me with the kids.  I didn’t mind staying with the kids but you remember my cousin Monell and her husband Ross.  He came down tonight and waited on Esther to take her home.  While He and I were sitting in the kitchen talking and drinking coffee, Clark and Betty came home just lousy drunk.  Clark has never met Ross and he walked in the back door and said “What in the hell kind of party is this.”  It just embarrassed me nearly to death.  I just hate him Vincent.  I’m going to get myself a job and go in with some girl in an apartment.  I just can’t stand this any more.  If you’re not going to take care of me Vincent I’ll take care of myself.  You don’t need to think that when you come home everything is going to be all right.  Cause you’re just crazy if you do.  I’m in the mood tonight to tell everybody off.  If there’s something wrong Vincent you could at least be white enough to write and tell me.

You promised to send me money some time ago but you didn’t do it.  If you had held good to your word, Mom and I wouldn’t have to take all this [edited] and live in this mess.  I’m just sick of everything and everybody.  Unless you straighten up Vincent and write to me and help me when I need you, you can just deal me out.  Vincent, I need advice.  I don’t know which way to turn.  Mom has got a job every Friday cleaning some woman’s house so that gives her some spending money.  I don’t have a damned thing left out of my check so I don’t know what in the hell I’m going to do unless I do get a job.

Vincent will you please write to me and give me some advice.  I’ll really appreciate it.
