My Darling Baby,

Boy did I get a whale of a letter just now, boy what a letter & what a thrill.  Baby you sure can write em & man the way you write em.  You’re going to cause me to have heart failure one of these days.  It runs so damned fast when I read letters like the one I just got.  It was your letter of April 6th darling.  You said I was so damned sweet & boy did that go right to my heart.  But you, you darling, your’e just too damned sweet.  You’ve got me forgetting my work & everything else.  You said you’d be glad when you can get on my lap & then ask me for something.  Did my heart jump when you said that.  I think I know what you meant but please ask me that in your next letter so I’ll remember it for sure.  I just love for you to write things like that in a letter.  It just does something to me & I guess it’s because I love you so damned much it isn’t funny.  Oh darling when I get home you can just crawl all over me if you want to.  I always loved to have you in my lap.  And when we sleep I always want your arms around me just like you used to.  And another thing I’ll never get ¾

¾ enough of those kisses from that beautiful mouth of yours.  ¾ Pheety do you think you’ll be jealous of me again when I get home.  Do you really still love me that much.  I hope so Pheety.

¾ That name Pheety will always live with us won’t it honey.  I’m so glad you had it put on my bracelet.  I think so much of it I wear it all the time.

Well I see you couldn’t guess what I got you for your birthday.  Pheety don’t you know what Switzerland is so famous for.  Well I can’t hold it from you any longer but remember I’m only giving you a hint.  “Would you please tell me what time it is.”  Boy I can’t wait til you get it, Darling it’s the most beautiful thing I ever saw & I paid plenty for it too.  I also got one for myself but it’s not as nice as yours.  My Baby comes first & then what money I had left I got one for myself.  Oh just wait til you see it.  Now do you see why I haven’t any money or haven’t you guessed what it is yet. ¾

¾ Will close now to go to work, will write you more this evening ¾

Just got back in my jeep darling, I’ve been patroling the streets & turned in 3 negroes.  Oh what a nite to have you with me in my jeep.  It’s moonlight & boy what a beautiful nite.  I’ve sure got the fever honey & I’m so glad I’m coming home to you very soon.

I talked to the Sergeant Major of operations Division of 16th Part tonite & he said all men from 40 to 44 points & 2 year men will be on orders to go home the 18th.  Just four more days my darling if he was right.  Looks like I’m going to be in your arms this month Pheety.  Oh I’m so happy, aren’t you.  What a time you & I are going to have when I get there.  ¾ Darling I don’t know why but I’m so tired tonite.  I’d love to write you all nite but I’m going to bed & get some sleep.  ¾Your letter was beautiful honey & I hope to write you a beautiful letter tomorrow.

All my love to you forever

                                    Your Pheety

I love you so much, really I do.
