Saturday

My dearest Paul,

Another weekend has raked around, and as always I find myself missing you very much. At the moment, I’m tuned in on the Duke [and] Ga. Tech. game, and it is proving very exciting. Not many people from here have gone since the usual traveling barriers make it an impossibility.

Carolyn’s roommate is away for the weekend so I’m going over in a little while to have dinner and spend the night. Guess we will do a bit of cooking.

I realize that letters are inadequate for settling any disagreements. Therefore, I’m not going to use their means to argue back and forth. I don’t understand, though, Paul, why you didn’t answer me in a straightforward sort of way, but then I was able to get the general gist of things.

Frances was telling me this morning that a friend of theirs had a letter from R. the other day and that he was getting along fine. Mary Ann’s friend, Donald, leaves Mon. for the Army.

I miss you. All of my thoughts are of you and I love you with all my heart.
