Dear Mom & all,

How is every one down in that part of the world by now?  Hope every one is better.  I am feeling pretty good. Just about the time I was getting over my cold it started raining and snowing; it snowed all day today but melted as fast as it hit the ground.  And it is lots colder, and I took more cold.

I got a letter from Allie Mae yesterday; she said something about buying a place in Ft. Worth.  I don’t think that would be a bad idea, if you all want to buy a place you can take my part of the allotment and put in on it and when the war is over we can have a place to live and not have to pay rent.  I know a place will be pretty high now, but what Allie Mae would have to put in on it and what the rent would bring and what the allotment or my part of it would be wouldn’t take long to pay for a pretty good place.  You all can do what ever you want to do about it and it will be ok with me.

Am glad to hear that Sam and Wife have gone back together. Hope they can make a go of it this time.  I don’t think it makes any difference about the card, except when you sign for or sign the check will have to sign it like it is made out.  I may have put it Osa M. but I was thinking I put it B.

Papa, send me your exact size for you shoes and I will try and get you a pair; I think I can get a pair, and they sure would last a long time.  Better than any you can buy.  I have got to send some things home anyway. My watch has stopped, don’t want to let any of these high jacking robbers mess with it down here, so will just send it home before long and you can just keep it until I get back.

Well as I have two more letters to write, will close for this time, hoping to hear from you all soon.

                                    LOVE,

                                                Marlin
