Dearest Mom & all-

How is everyone away over there? By now, fine I hope. I am feeling good except for my teeth, am having a little trouble with them, am almost afraid to have any pulled because it is pretty hot weather here yet.

I got two letters today. One was postmarked July 22, the other one wasn’t dated. The mail is coming across better than it used too.  Mom in writing the Vmail you are writing almost too small it is sure hard to read after it is photographed, and if you can get pen and ink, would be better than pencil.

Sure hope it has rained there by now so those tomatoes will be make good and you can can lots of them for I sure am hungry for fresh fruits and veg’s.

The price of melons seems high but I would give it and not kick at all if I could just get one good Parker Co. melon. When you see Howard or any of Sharpes, tell them I said to save a good one for me.  We can buy melons over here but they are about the size of a football and are not any good at all.

I am still driving a truck, nothing very hard. But the same thing all the time sure gets tiresome, but if that’s what it takes to end this war I don’t mind at all. Anything to get this mess over and get back home.

I got a letter from Lucy today, she is back with that man, or should I say man he sometimes acts about like some little kid. But you know the old saying love is blind, so maybe he will come to his senses before long and act like a man.  If I were there I could tell him a few things. It wouldn’t do any good but it would give me the pleasure of telling him anyway.

Mom if you can get any Vmail and don’t have to go through too much red tape to send it over, could use same.  I told Lucy the same and maybe if you both send some I will get one package anyway.  I can’t understand why the other boys aren’t getting the things they write for, but maybe it won’t be long before we will be back to where we can buy what we want ourselves.

As this is about all for now will close this time hoping to hear from all soon.
