Holland

Dear Bob,

I was glad to hear from you and hope that everything is O.K. with you. I had a letter from Bill yesterday. I have lost his address in Flint so tell him that and have him write me from there. He sent me a poem of the monkey race that was good.

How are things at the plant and will they continue to operate after the war?

Things look good over here and I just hope that the Pacific war will soon end as they are talking of sending all men from base over there. I wish you could see the different countries over here and the homes, clothes, and a lot of other things. The Dutch still sell milk from cans in a cart pulled with a dog either in front or under the wagon. I am trying to get some pictures but they are hard to find. For chocolate candy, gum, sugar, and cigarettes the Dutch will do most anything for you or pay big prices but we aren’t allowed to trade or sell. If it comes from home with tax paid it is O.K. I will close for now.

Love, Mason.
