Dear Dougy,

It took me exactly 17 minutes to have my lunch today.  We expect a storm any minute and I didn’t feel like getting caught in it. Honestly, it rains everyday, and I doubt very much if we are going to have a summer.

I called up Frank this morning. Was he surprised to hear from me? Married life seems to agree with him. He sounded quite cheerful even though he said he “feels like an old married man.” He told me he received a letter from you about two weeks ago and he expects to answer it any day now.

How are you and your horseback riding getting on? Did you get together yet? To bad I don’t ride, or else I would come down there and give you a few lessons. My brother went riding for the first time a few weeks ago and he seems to be having the same trouble.

By this time you should know how to take a plane apart and put it together again. Say, maybe, I’m going to fast! You are learning Air Force fundamentals right now. Find it interesting?

Congratulations!! I notice you are a P.F.C. now. Gee before you know it you’ll be a captain. Boy, what a sensation you’ll be. You should have some influence now, why don’t you see what you can do about getting a furlough. Try it and see how far you’ll get.

Doug, I hope this letter reaches you before Easter so that you could get my greetings in time. That new Khaki that most of the boys are wearing should make a swell Easter outfit. It might be common but it’s becoming.

                                                Happy Easter,

                                                            Geri
