Dear Douglas:
I
understand from your letters you seem to be enjoying the best of life. However,
I’m glad you were so fortunate to be in with a good outfit. Also glad to hear
you have completed your field test, which sounded interesting. They seem to be
liberal with their leaves to allow you to go to town nearly ever night. I’m glad you mention about the USO because I always
heard that the soldiers were not receiving much from them at all.
Well,
Douglas, Clifford is five and half months old. How the time flies. Margaret
sends her best regards to you and so does her sister Irma, and family. Here’s
