Dearest Honey:

I’m all perked up on the living room sofa out at the Kids’ again. Mom and Dad brought me out here and we snacked a bit and chatted. I was so glad to show the pictures of you which I received today. Darling, where did you get that cute monkey? Does it belong to you boys or did you borrow it for the pictures? Tell me about the little animal, won’t you, Sweet?

Today’s letter was the sweetest letter you have ever written to me. It is nice to know you will be able to write anything you really want to tell me. I wish I could kiss you for every sweet loving word you wrote. Um-Um!!

How are you feeling, as good as I hope? I’m feeling quite spry and light-hearted today too and for a good reason and I’ll be telling you about it as I go on writing this. I would like to start with the way my day started and so on. I slept quite late – 10 o’clock, got up and had a little breakfast and then took a bath and got ready to go to the Sanitarium. I called Dr. Henrichsen for an appointment and he told me to come in the afternoon. I stopped at Florence’s to see how Jerry is. As you may remember, he had quite a fever Sunday and the doctor had to be called. He needs some color but outside of that he has practically recovered. He had a bowel disorder. He was so tickled to see me. I left after he took his nap and took the street car out to Mayor Kelly’s resort. After the X-Ray was taken, I went up to see John. Since it takes a while for the picture plate to dry, I could gallivant about for a while. Was John ever surprised to see me. He was in good high spirits and said he felt very good. Wanted to know what the latest about you was. He doesn’t smoke much anymore, in fact, he didn’t touch a cigarette and I thought that was very good.

I went downtown to Doc’s office at 4:30. I did leave a dollar with John. I like to leave a little “reserve” whenever I see him. I know you would do the same, wouldn’t you, Darling? Well, Doc told me that my latest X-Ray showed good results – nothing but healed tissues showed other than perfection. He seemed quite satisfied. He wanted to know about you. (He’d better be interested.) His diagnosis would make anyone feel good, don’t you think, Sweet? I stopped at your folks’ on my way home. Your Dad had been working on the upstairs front porch. I guess a new railing is being made. Had he written to you about it, Honey? That just about covers my Day. I did look at my flower beds and found the Sweet Peas drying up since it’s too late and cold. I should’ve planted them earlier. I did learn something though and I will know better the next time. I will be getting posies in one of the boxes and when the first one opens, I’ll send it to you. I would like a nice garden of flowers. You did get more packages recently from me, didn’t you, Darling? I was wondering if the one with the wine has arrived yet. I mailed 2 in July and 1 in August. You tell me how they look when you get them. Do any of the items spoil?

Honey, about the film situation, I have one request which asks for 127. Is this the number you want? I did want another request from you for 120’s so that when I send your camera, I would be able to send plenty of film. Film is only available for military people. We civilians can’t get it. I have one more roll of 116 for my own camera. I hope to have this roll used up soon so I can send you more snaps.

I was working out your point system again since there are so many new decisions about discharge. I would send the article in tonight’s paper but your folks’ are going to send it. The point system will be reduced more and more – By Nov. 1st all 60’s can be released and after the New Year starts, it will be that all servicemen with 2 years of training or service can be released. Does that sound like news to you, Honey? I’m hoping and hoping so hard. I will answer your today’s letter tomorrow, Honey. Thank you for the snapshots and negatives. I’ll have them developed.

I feel so good tonight, My Dearest. Hope I’ll keep up like that. Keep well and in high spirits, Lover. God bless my Darling Hubby. I miss you so.

Good-night and pleasant dreams, Honey. I’m enclosing a sweet poem and some stamps. Would you try sending a few letters AIR MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY and see if your mail doesn’t make better time? I have heard it helps.

Sleep tight, Darling.
