Hi Honey:

Since I didn’t have time to write to you last night, I didn’t want you to miss out on Mail Call for even one single day.  Therefore, I thought I’d jot a few words down before my lunch hour.  Vivian, Lillian, Vivian’s cousin Trae, and I went to the Ice Skating Show at the Arena last night.  It was quite a miserable night to go out, but we couldn’t very well back out since we already had the tickets, rather Vivian and them.

It started to rain yesterday afternoon and when I started home form work, it was really pouring.  I had an umbrella but the wind was so strong, you couldn’t keep an umbrella opened.  The traffic was so bad, worse than other nights.  I got home 15 minutes later, as usual.

Vivian had invited us over for supper, and, that had just about given me enough time to wash up and dress.  She had bought Chop Suey and it was sufficient to satisfy our appetite.  By the time we started out on the street-car to go to the Arena, it had gotten so cold, it was actually winter.  Dad couldn’t give us a car to use because he sold the Pontiac the day before yesterday and got a coupe, which wouldn’t have been big enough for the four of us.  We eventually got to the place and were glad it wasn’t too cold inside.

The show was really beautiful.  The costumes were so gorgeous.  I think this show has Sonia Henie beat.  I bought a program booklet and I’m going to send it to you.  I look forward to the times when we will be going to these shows and other events together.  It’s more fun that way.  I enjoyed the show but I don’t like the idea of you missing out on anything I see.  Something tells me there won’t be much time lost anymore, because you’re coming home real soon.  Somehow I feel surer here lately than ever before.

Sweet, speaking of the program book, I just weighed it and since it’s over 2 ounces and anything and everything over that amount can’t be sent in Air-Mail, I’m splitting it in half and sending it in two separate envelopes.  I hope you don’t mind me doing this.  You will get a lot of enjoyment out of this book because it’s exactly as the show actually was.  After you’re home, we’ll never miss out on these shows, will we, honey?  We’ll see plays and visit different spots.  Won’t we have fun, Sweetheart?

I don’t have your letters before me and I won’t be able to answer any of the balance of your questions, but I plan on doing that very thing tonight.  I have work to do at home tonight. I have to iron and mend some clothes of mine and I finish answering your letter.  Some of the questions you asked have been answered.  Fortunately you asked questions which I happened to tell you about in previous letter, but nevertheless, I will be glad to answer again, just to make sure you get the answers.  You asked about the car situation and that’s what I’m referring to regarding the answers and questions.  I told Dad you asked again about the cars and he seems to be very much concerned about doing all he can to get all the advantages possible for you with the car situation.  Frankly, I think he’s tickled because you asked for his opinion and it really makes such a good impression.  It makes me feel good to know he feels so deeply concerned about you.

Honey, I’d better send this off now.  I will write more tonight. Really, I will.  Keep my love with you constantly wherever you go, won’t you?

I’m wishing my Darling Hubby the best of luck

All my love,

Emily    “Kiss”
