Dear Ollie;
I received your letter Tuesday and was very glad to hear from you.
In your letter you said that you were assistant CHAPLIN, and you think it is hard work, nothing is too great for you?
How many times have [you] been doing KP duty? Now don’t tell no lies
What are you doing in the army besides a rifleman?
I got a German haircut and boy do I hate it. I use to have a nice wave in my hair and all I got now is fuss and not very good neither.
When I was in
Eddie is in my room now and he got my teacher.
Today we had a game of baseball out in the alley and did we have fun. After we finished, we went to the beach. We left about 1 o clock and came home about 6 o’clock. The water was fair. We played in the sand and had a good time; my brother left at a different time and I got home sooner then he did, because he took a longer way then I did.
Well I have to be going now
so long
Jack Cook
PS
I hope you have a good time as Chaplin.
